Feature switches
Switch whole features off for the server, or for one app. What is off takes nothing in, and its screens, panels and tools go away in the console, the apps, the terminal and MCP.
The features

| Feature | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Analytics | Pageviews, events, visits, the dashboard, segments and imports |
| Funnels | Saved funnels and their panels; needs analytics |
| Inbox | Feedback, bug reports and messages |
| Waitlist | Signups |
| Errors | Error tracking: issues, occurrences and their alerts |
| Tracing | OpenTelemetry traces, logs and services |
| Lab | A/B experiments and feature flags; needs analytics. Off, /_care/flags answers no flags. |
| AI access | The MCP server, for the whole server only; off until the owner turns it on, with two-factor sign-in |
Server and app
- The server: admins switch features under Settings › Features. Switches save as you flip them.
- One app: under Settings › Apps, the app, Features. A feature is on for an app only when the server allows it and the app has not switched it off; the page says when the server has it off.
- At start:
FEATURES_DISABLED, such asFEATURES_DISABLED=tracing,errors, sets the default for every feature an admin has not switched.
When a feature is off
- Ingest for it answers 403 with the code
feature_disabled, and the tracker captures no errors by itself. - Screens and panels for it are hidden; a page of a switched-off feature says so instead of failing.
- MCP tools of a feature the server has off leave the tool list.
- What was stored stays until its retention, or until you delete it.
Deleting a feature's data
Delete this feature's data, in an app's Features section, deletes for good what that feature stored for the app, whether it is on or off: events, sessions and imported data for analytics; saved funnels; requests with their attachments and notes; signups; error issues; or spans and logs. It asks you to confirm first.
Switches and deletions are in the audit log, and in the API (features), the apps and the terminal (:features). Over MCP, get_features reads them and set_features changes them with the settings access; deleting is not a tool.
